The #Fantboi4 continues to warm up its engines ahead of its celebration on June 6 and 9 and among its new features is a new section titled «Otra Mirada».
The Another Look section will accommodate titles with fantastic themes and an independent vocation, preferably unpublished in Spain and that are committed to experimentation, new languages and the fusion of genres. In past editions, the organization encountered titles presented that, although of high quality, did not fit within the sections; Believing in the capabilities of the films, they have decided to screen them for an audience that will surely enjoy that Otra Mirada that gives its name to the section.
In the words of Hugo Cobo, director of the festival: «We wanted to add this section to give a special opportunity to works that will rarely be released on platforms and much less in cinemas. Give visibility to less conventional films, but that are artistically as interesting as they are brave.”.
Likewise, Fantboi is pleased to announce the first title selected for Otra Mirada: the German film Post Empire, Günther Franke’s debut feature, a science fiction neo-noir about the breakdown of identities, the world of drugs and love .
Added to the official section is the Argentine film Recuerdos del mal directed by the incombustible Gabriel Musco, who already opened Fantboi 2 with his film El oscuro lugar donde habitan, which also featured the presence of its lead actress Grace Ulloa.
In Recuerdos del mal, we find a disturbing horror story, with the story of a young nurse who suspects about the amnesia suffered by the old woman she cares for. In her investigation into whether said amnesia is being caused, she will encounter terrifying events that she must fight against if she wants to discover the truth.
